On a busy Saturday of racing, handicapper J. Keeler Johnson analyzes a Pick 6 carryover at Oaklawn Park and a Super High 5 carryover at Keeneland.
Oaklawn Park: Race 6: $6,192 Pick 6 carryover (4:29 p.m. ET)
One of the highlights of the Saturday card at Oaklawn is a $6,192 carryover in the $1 Classix Pick 6.
If you’re looking for a single to build tickets around, we recommend siding with #1 Strollsmischief (2-1) in Race 10, the six-furlong Rainbow S. for Arkansas-bred three-year-olds.
Strollsmischief was tons the best in a six-furlong maiden special weight for Arkansas-breds over this track on March 7. He led all the way to win by four lengths with an 84 Brisnet Speed rating, tied for the highest number belonging to any horse entered in the Rainbow.
The form of Strollsmichief’s maiden win was flattered when distant third-place finisher #8 Seventies Music (5-2) returned to win his next start over the same conditions, earning an 84 Brisnet Speed rating.
With only one other obvious speed horse entered in the Rainbow, Strollsmischief has a strong chance to post another gate-to-wire win.

Keeneland: Race 11: $12,594 Super High 5 carryover (6:22 p.m. ET)
The final race on Keeneland’s stakes-packed Saturday card is Race 11, the Blue Grass (G1) for three-year-olds racing 1 1/8 miles over the main track. It’s not only a Road to the Kentucky Derby qualifier and the biggest prize on the card, it’s also the race in which a $12,594 carryover is up for grabs in the $1 Super High 5.

The two favorites are #6 Further Ado (8-5) and #4 Reagan’s Honor (5-2), and we like them both. Further Ado broke his maiden by 20 lengths at Keeneland last fall, and since then he’s won the Kentucky Jockey Club (G2) and finished second in the Tampa Bay Derby (G3) on the Road to the Kentucky Derby. In the latter race, he was beaten only three-quarters of a length by The Puma, who came back to finish second by a nose in the Florida Derby (G1).
Further Ado dominates to break his maiden in R8 at @keeneland under @iradortiz for trainer @bradcoxracing and owner @spendthriftfarm! 💪

As for Reagan’s Honor, he recently defeated older horses in a fast 1 1/16-mile allowance at Fair Grounds, earning a sharp 96 Brisnet Speed rating. A pure pacesetter, Reagan’s Honor has the potential to secure an easy lead in the Blue Grass, making him tough to catch in the homestretch.
We recommend keying Further Ado and Reagan’s Honor in the top two slots of the Super High 5. For the final three slots, we’ll spread deep with #1 Talkin (10-1), #3 Great White (15-1), #5 Creole Chrome (8-1), and #9 Ottinho (20-1).
Good luck!
