Sunday’s $15,887 Sunset Six Pick 6 carryover looks winnable on a modest budget. In fact, we believe a competitive ticket can be assembled for under $20.
The Sunset Six is comprised of the final three races on the Gulfstream Park and Santa Anita cards. Chalky results appear likely, with a few strong favorites throughout the sequence.
Here’s how we’ll bet the Sunset Six:

Analysis
Leg 1: Gulfstream Park Race 7 (4:06 p.m. ET)
#3 Happy Ride (7-5) has dominated her last two starts sprinting over the Gulfstream Tapeta track, earning sharp Brisnet Speed ratings of 91 and 89. Both of those wins came in $20,000 starter optional claimers. She’ll be tough to catch while sticking to the same track and class level, but don’t overlook #6 Jokes Up (12-1) as a live longshot. She’s won four of her last five starts on dirt, but also boasts a respectable 18-4-3-5 record on synthetic.

Leg 2: Gulfstream Park Race 8
In this allowance sprint for Florida-bred fillies and mares, #6 Flowko (2-1) is a logical contender after recording top-three finishes in back-to-back stakes. But #5 Frosty Belle (9-5) impressed when dominating a recent $17,500 claimer by six lengths, earning an 82 Brisnet Speed rating higher than Flowko’s recent numbers. We’ll use them both.
Leg 3: Gulfstream Park Race 9
#5 Ghostlight (2-1) is the filly to beat in this $12,500 maiden claimer. In her last two starts, she’s finished second in a $30,000 maiden claimer and sixth in a $35,000 maiden claimer, earning sharp Brisnet Speed ratings of 76 and 69. We’ll single Ghostlight in the Sunset Six.
Leg 4: Santa Anita Race 7
Santa Anita’s first contribution to the Sunset Six is a $20,000 allowance optional claimer for California-bred fillies and mares racing one mile on turf. #5 Miso Phansy (2-1) ran third under these conditions on May 2, her first start of 2026. Runner-up in the Honeymoon (G3) last year, Miso Phansy is a strong win contender in her second start of the season, but #4 Wild West Coast (3-1), #6 We the Hobby (9-2), and #7 Petite Treat (4-1) have run fast enough on the Brisnet Speed rating scale to suggest they can challenge for top honors.
Leg 5: Santa Anita Race 8
In the seven-furlong Triple Bend (G3), we’ll single #5 Stronghold (1-1), winner of the 2024 Santa Anita Derby (G1) and Sunland Park Derby (G3). He kicked off his 2026 campaign with a dead-heat win in a 1 1/16-mile $150,000 allowance optional claimer, but he’s proven effective sprinting seven furlongs in the past, finishing second in the Malibu (G1), Pat O’Brien (G2), and Bob Hope (G3). He appears well spotted to snag victory in his second start of 2026.
Leg 6: Santa Anita Race 9
#10 Maximon (6-5) nearly won a recent $50,000 maiden claimer sprinting 6 1/2 furlongs over the Santa Anita turf, finishing second by a head. He’s sticking to the same surface and class level for Race 9, a six-furlong sprint, and looms as a formidable favorite. We’ll single him to wrap up the Sunset Six.
Good luck!
