Keeneland $408,658 Pick 6 carryover: analysis
Race 5: Maiden Special Weight (5 1/2 furlongs on turf)
#10 Triskelion (5-2) has finished third and second in her first two starts on grass at Ellis Park and Kentucky Downs, earning improving Brisnet Speed ratings of 74 and 80. Trainer Rusty Arnold wins at a terrific 47% rate with horses beaten as the favorite in their previous start, so Triskelion has a strong shot to win his third try. First-time starter #5 Lady Jancis (9-2) is the only other we’ll use.
Race 6: $100,000 Allowance Optional Claiming (6 1/2 furlongs on dirt)
#8 Hillerito (9-5) has won five of his six starts, including recent $50,000 and $80,000 allowance optional claimers on the Kentucky circuit. Sharp Brisnet Speed ratings suggest Hillerito can win again for the hot jockey/trainer duo of Tyler Gaffalione and David Jacobson.
Race 7: Allowance (1 3/16 miles on turf)
#3 Valentinian (4-1) has shown talent on dirt, but he’s not a lock to win in his grass debut. Experienced grass runners like #6 Chapman’s Peak (5-1) and #7 Warlander (6-1) are logical alternatives.
Race 8: $125,000 Allowance Optional Claiming (six furlongs on dirt)
This sprint for three-year-old fillies has drawn a competitive field. We’ll lean on flashy Churchill Downs maiden winner #9 Gin’s Beach Road (3-1), recent $125,000 allowance optional claiming winner #8 Anakarina (5-1), the consistent allowance performer #1 Stilettos (4-1), and Dogwood (G3) fourth-place finisher #3 Mega Mil (10-1).
Race 9: Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1, 1 1/8 miles on turf)
The undefeated #2 Laurelin (5-2) and the hot Belmont Oaks (G1) winner #9 Fionn (3-1) appear evenly matched in the afternoon’s feature event. We’ll use them both.

Race 10: $50,000 Starter Allowance (6 1/2 furlongs on dirt)
#6 Uncle William (8-1) nabbed a $50,000 claimer at Ellis Park last time out with a 100 Brisnet Speed rating. #9 Countthebrave (4-1) exits a gate-to-wire win in an $80,000 claimer at Churchill Downs, for which he earned a 94 Brisnet Speed rating. These David Jacobson trainees will be formidable win contenders if they run back to those numbers.
Good luck!
