No fewer than five carryovers worth in excess of $20,000 are available to chase at Gulfstream Park and Santa Anita on Sunday.
Here are horses to bet in each carryover:
Sunset Pick 6: $106,873 carryover (4:20 p.m. ET)
Three races at Gulfstream Park and three races at Santa Anita comprise the Sunset Pick 6, which features a $106,873 carryover on Sunday.
Need a single to build tickets around? We recommend #5 Pursuitneversleeps (9-5) in Leg 2, which is Race 10 at Gulfstream.
Pursuitneversleeps is a formidable favorite in the seven-furlong $62,500 allowance optional claimer. Last time out, he won a six-furlong allowance at Churchill Downs by one length over Stiglets, who came back to crush a similar race at Oaklawn Park in the blazing time of 1:08.85.
Pursuitneversleeps’ Churchill win earned a 100 Brisnet Speed rating, tied for the highest number in Sunday’s field. A similar performance should result in a second straight win.
Coast to Coast Pick 5: $149,416 carryover (4:50 p.m. ET)
Conveniently, Race 10 at Gulfstream is Leg 1 of the Coast to Coast Pick 5, which boasts a massive $149,416 carryover for Sunday’s card.
As in the Sunset Pick 6, we suggest singling Pursuitneversleeps.
Santa Anita, Race 4: $51,027 Pick 6 carryover (5:04 p.m. ET)
If you choose to pursue Sunday’s $51,027 Pick 6 carryover at Santa Anita, the best single candidate can arguably be found in Race 4, a six-furlong maiden special weight for California-bred fillies and mares.
#4 Syntax (7-5) is a clear favorite in the six-horse field. She’s started twice over this class level, running second in a dirt sprint at Del Mar and fourth in a turf sprint at Santa Anita. In her fourth-place finish, she was beaten only half a length.
Syntax still has upside and has already defeated key rival #2 All in the Game (2-1). She looks tough to beat in her third start.
Gulfstream Park, Race 11: $61,778 Super High 5 carryover (5:20 p.m. ET)
To win a share of Sunday’s $61,778 Super High 5 carryover at Gulfstream, you’ll have to solve Race 11, a maiden special weight for fillies and mares racing 1 1/16 miles on turf.
#1 Just So Pretty (4-1) looks like a mare to build tickets around. She’s certainly not a lock to win, but her 10-0-4-3 lifetime record includes nine top-five finishes. She’s cracked the trifecta in each of her last five starts against maiden special weight company on turf, and we recommend counting on her to finish in the top three again on Sunday.
End your weekend on a high note! 💸

Santa Anita, Race 9: $20,515 Super High 5 carryover (7:35 p.m. ET)
Santa Anita’s $20,515 Super High 5 carryover is up for grabs in Race 9, a maiden special weight for three-year-olds racing 1 1/8 miles on turf.
Our top choice, at a bit of a price, is #8 House of Mischief (8-1). In his grass and route debut on Dec. 29, he carved out the pace in a one-mile maiden special weight at Santa Anita before weakening slightly to finish second, beaten by half a length.
House of Mischief finished nicely on the clock down the homestretch and may move forward on Sunday, since trainer Sean McCarthy wins at a sharp 21% rate with horses running long for the second time. Don’t leave House of Mischief off the top of your tickets.
Good luck!
