Race 1

1st: (3) THE SINNER IS YOU – horse for the course has won 13 times here in 33 starts with 14 placings. Gelded son of Into Mischief won his seasonal debut against this level, then was third when moved up in class.

2nd: (5) RICHIESINTHEHOUSE – horse for the course has won nine of 14 starts here and only out of the money once. The 11-year-old gelding makes his third start off the layoff for Mike Pappada, who wins 29% in this spot.

3rd: (2) HOUSEBUILDER – speedball won here off a long layoff for Jay Bernardini, who wins 23% first start after a win.

Race 2

1st: (1) WE CALLED SOL – broke his maiden in his eighth try, but second time here on Tapeta. He came back with an even third against this conditioned claiming level. He returns for the same price first start off the claim and draws the rail with Willie Martinez.

2nd: (6) EXCLUSIVE ENTRY – returned to the races off a 10-month layoff and held well for third against this class level. He did nothing when moved way up in class and returns to a more realistic level.

3rd: (5) MAC’S CAT – drops down in class second start off the long layoff for Randy Russell.

Race 3

1st: (6) HAUT LES COEURS – was a good second as the 7-5 favorite in his PID debut two starts back, then was second again as the odds-on favorite. Pappada wins 25% first start after being beaten as the favorite.

2nd: (4) CHEERFUL TROUT – still a maiden after 14 tries, but she has five seconds against better maiden company. She has had two starts this year and drops a notch in class for Moises Valdez, who wins 11% in this spot.

3rd: (5) LITTLE MISS MUNNY – winless in 24 career starts but has eight placings in 11 starts at PID.

Race 4

1st: (1) ROUND OF APPLAUSE – one-dimensional closer rallied for third here two starts back, then ran about the same race last out. Son of Kitten’s Joy draws the rail and gets Martina Rojas, who wins 12% riding for Murray.

3rd: (2) TONY SMALL – was a good second here two starts back as the odds-on favorite when chasing a slow pace, then he was second again last out. Son of Distorted Humor returns against the same level in his first start off the claim by Gerry Brooks.

3rd: (5) MARSAC – made his seasonal debut a winning one when he went gate to wire.

Race 5

1st: (6) OLD TOWN ROAD – won two dirt races in a row in fast time at Tampa Bay. He came here and won his PID debut as the 4-5 favorite for Juan Arriagada, who wins 22% first start after a win.

2nd: (5) GENERAL WINSTON – horse for the course raced evenly to finish up last season, then returned here seven months later with a sharp win in fast time. Matt Kintz wins 17% second start off the layoff.

3rd: (1) MOR SPRING SPIRIT – speedball went gate to wire last out in blazing-fast time going this distance.

Race 6

1st: (2) PEMAQUID PETE – horse for the course showed high speed on the turf at Mountaineer Park, then held on for third here against better claimers. John Fennessy wins 18% third start off the layoff, and he draws well with Walber Alencar.

2nd: (5) GLOBES – made his PID debut last out and was a good second in fast time against similar company. He has run well on the Tapeta at Gulfstream Park and gets Luis Negron – 27% with his route mounts.

3rd: (3) Q F SEVENTY FIVE – beat this optional claiming level here last year, then was an even third last out.

Race 7

1st: (5) FASTER GATOR – won his first two career starts at Laurel on dirt, then just missed at Aqueduct in a stakes race behind a horse that went on to win the Ohio Derby (G3). He tired last out, but his speed makes him very dangerous in his Tapeta debut.

2nd: (4) BIG VINCE – like all Larry Rivelli starters, this one has speed. He held well for second on the Tapeta at Woodbine last out against similar stakes company. Rivelli wins an amazing 36% against this stakes level and 35% off short rest.

3rd: (7) GOLDEN AFTERNOON – makes his Tapeta debut with Irad Ortiz Jr. aboard.

Race 8

1st: (11) MRS. MANICOTTI – just missed going gate to wire here two starts back, then tired last out. She drops down in class for the Rojases and looks like she has enough speed to overcome the wide draw.

2nd: (2) HOPE SHE COMES – winless in 15 starts here and returns off a 285-day layoff for Ariane Wilson. She’s been working well and has speed ratings that are very consistent.

3rd: (6) ROCK TUNE – has three seconds in four starts against this maiden claiming level.
