Presque Isle Downs Selections and Analysis for Monday, Sept. 22, 2025

Dick Powell handicaps the Monday card at Presque Isle Downs.
Race 1
1st: (6) GLANCING MY WAY – showed good speed in her well-bet career debut on a sloppy track at Colonial Downs. She came back there and lost all chance with a rough start for Tim Girten, who wins 23% with his maiden claimers.
2nd: (1) RIDGIE – first-time starter from Maria Bowerstock, who wins 6% with her debut runners and 12% with her maiden claimers. She’s by Neolithic, who sires an amazing 16% first time out.
3rd: (2) BOKEH – drops down to maiden claimers after two even races against better company.
Race 2
1st: (8) FADETHENOISE – ran evenly in fast time in his PID debut and now drops down to bottom claimers for Brandon Kulp, who wins 29% with his overall claimers and is 6-for-13 when he rides Pablo Morales.
2nd: (5) FLORIDA GATOR – speedball just missed going gate to wire against better claimers on the dirt at Mountaineer Park, then came back there with a similar second. He did nothing last out and now drops down to the bottom.
3rd: (4) BRENNAN’S WAR – was a good third at class and distance two starts back for Rory Barron.
Race 3
1st: (3) CASHIER CHECK – won going away two starts back going two turns in very fast time, then raced evenly as the 13-10 favorite. Scooter Davis wins 44% first start after being beaten as the favorite.
2nd: (1) TOP RECRUIT – won his first two career starts here going short, then was a good second behind a next-out winner. He was even last out and now takes on solid optional claimers for Juan Arriagada.
3rd: (6) THALBERG – won going away two starts back, then was a close second at this distance.
Race 4
1st: (5) LA PANDA – beat bottom claimers three starts in a row to finish up last year, then returned 11 months later with an even third. Adam Rice wins 31% with his overall claimers and 17% second start off the layoff.
2nd: (3) RED ELEANOR – has some back class here to begin the season, then was off the board in her last three starts. Aldana Spieth wins 12% with her route starters and 23% with Scott.
3rd: (6) VANILLA BEAN – drops down in class looking for some much-needed relief.
Race 5
1st: (5) DAKOTA SPRINGS – romped by over five lengths when moved up in class off the claim by Kulp. She was a good second against this allowance level for Kulp, who wins 24% with this surface switch.
2nd: (4) MAIDSTONE – romped by six lengths in her well-bet career debut on the dirt at Penn National and now takes on winners for Erin McClellan, who wins 20% with her allowance runners.
3rd: (6) SMOKED – ships in for her PID debut off three wins in Illinois for Larry Rivelli.
Race 6
1st: (2) POR VOCE – was a good third two starts back behind two next-out winners, then she chased the pace at long odds on the turf at Monmouth Park. Jorge Delgado wins 26% second start out of his barn.
2nd: (7) LADY FROST – ran well on the turf at Tampa Bay Downs, including a good second as the 3-5 favorite against males. Ron Potts wins 33% first start after being beaten as the favorite.
3rd: (1) SPOKEN VOW – still a maiden after 11 starts here, but she has six placings.
Race 7
1st: (7) SHEZ UNTAPPABLE – does her best racing when she is up near the lead. After beginning the season with two wins here, she tired some against allowance foes.
2nd: (1) ANHINGA – drops down in class after showing speed to the deep stretch in her last three starts against open allowance foes. Teresa Connelly wins 18% with her claimers, and she is able to get Antonio Gallardo back aboard.
3rd: (3) BLOODY COLORS WAVE – dropped to this class level and just missed going gate to wire.
Race 8
1st: (8) MARKET ORDER – was soundly beaten in her first three career starts, but woke up when switched to Connelly. She drops down to bottom-level maiden claimers and picks up Gallardo.
2nd: (4) NUN GIMEL HAY PO – ran well against this maiden claiming level with four in-the-money placings here going one turn. She tries them again from a middle post for Potts, who wins 22% on synthetic tracks.
3rd: (3) GOLDEN DOGECOIN – did nothing in her first three career starts, then rallied for third last out.
