Presque Isle Downs Selections and Analysis for Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025

Dick Powell handicaps the Tuesday card at Presque Isle Downs.
Race One:
1st: (4) BURNIN TURF – has found a home here at the age of nine with three wins in his first five PID starts. He dropped down in class and won his last two starts and now moves up in class off the claim by Brandon Kulp.
2nd: (2) ROYAL LUCK – one-dimensional closer just missed two starts back when stretched out to this distance against much better company. He did nothing last out and now drops down in class for Juan Arriagada.
Race Two:
1st: (5) SLAINTE MHATH – winless in 14 starts here, but she was a good second here against this maiden claiming level two starts back. Daughter of Uncle Mo has more than enough speed to get loose here.
2nd: (2) VANILLA CREAM – showed decent speed in three sprints, then was a distant third when stretched out to two turns for Keith Dickey. She draws inside and gets Martina Rojas back aboard – 14% with her route mounts.
3rd: (6) MY ANGEL DOES – tries two turns after a couple of turf starts at Mountaineer.
Race Three:
1st: (5) HEART – chased the pace against stakes foes two starts back, then just missed here against similar company to these. Brittany Russell wins 26% third start off the layoff and 22% with her synthetic-track starters.
2nd: (4) MITOLE MAGIC – won going away off a short rest, then was second in a stakes race. She tired last out when she set a wicked pace in the Masters (G2), going a bit longer for Randy Russell.
Race Four:
1st: (4) RUNAWAY HARRY – horse for the course was a good third two starts back when he led to the top of the stretch, then he came back against this class level and was a game second as the beaten favorite.
2nd: (6) COLONEL POPPY – romped against better two starts back, then showed nothing last out. He drops down to the bottom for Scooter Davis, who wins 29% going long and 28% with his synthetic-track starters.
3rd: (5) YADI – horse for the course returns after an even race seven days ago.
Race Five:
1st: (6) ARGUMENTAL – beat higher level claimers when allowed to set a slow pace, then just missed last out. She tired early last out and drops down for Randy Russell, who wins 24% with Gaddiel Martinez.
2nd: (3) HAUT LES COEURS – was a good third at class and distance three starts back then tired going six furlongs. She missed by a length last out, going two turns in fast time.
3rd: (5) QUEEN ATLAS – moves up off the claim off an easy win, although in slow time.
Race Six:
1st: (5) BOOGIE WOOGIE – speedball finally hung on to break her maiden against open company maidens and now takes on state-bred allowance foes for Randy Russell, who wins 14% first start after a maiden win.
2nd: (3) WINNING PLAY – was an even third against this class level in a turf sprint at Penn, then just missed there in similar circumstances. She tries Tapeta for the first time for Kathy Demasi, who is 4 for 12 with this surface switch.
3rd: (4) SHEZ UNTAPPABLE – just missed against these as the 11-10 favorite two starts back.
Race Seven:
1st: (8) A CASE OF YOU – horse for the course is 5 for 5 here, both going long and short. She romped by over five lengths last out in fast time, going six furlongs, and stretches back out for Scooter Davis, who wins 37% in this spot.
2nd: (3) RIGHT NOW – had been sprinting against good company four starts in a row, then stretched out to two turns against this level and was a good second in a slow-paced race.
3rd: (7) AWESOME EXPRESS – stretches out to two turns off a good win with Brooke Bays.
Race Eight:
1st: (5) MARY’S REWARD – began the season with a good second in her PID debut against better, then mostly raced on wet dirt tracks or turf. Brandon Kulp wins 26% going long off two sprints and 25% first start after a win.
2nd: (1) LA CREMA – was a game second when dropped down to this level for the first time, then just missed going six furlongs. Daughter of Kitten’s Joy stretches out to two turns from the rail.
3rd: (6) HIGH TRACK – took her 13 starts to break her maiden, but she came right back to win.
