Santa Anita: Five-figure Pick 6 and Super High 5 carryovers

Five-figure Pick 6 and Super High 5 carryovers are among the betting highlights on Sunday at Santa Anita.
Let’s check out both of these lucrative prize pools and share a few horses worth including on your tickets:
Santa Anita: Race 5: $40,088 Pick 6 carryover (5:34 p.m. ET)
Santa Anita’s traditional $2 Pick 6 features a $40,088 carryover. Winning a share won’t be easy since competitive fields abound.
The feature event in the sequence is Race 7, the $100,000 Pasadena S. for three-year-olds racing one mile on turf. #2 Greenwich Village (3-1), a Triple Crown nominee trained by Bob Baffert, is a logical win threat. He launched a strong late rally to win his grass debut in the Baffle S. sprinting about 6 1/2 furlongs over Santa Anita’s downhill turf course, and stretching out over one mile shouldn’t be an issue for the son of Quality Road.
But don’t leave #6 Unrivaled Time (5-1) off your tickets. He was compromised by a slow early/fast late race shape when finishing third in Santa Anita’s one-mile Eddie Logan S. last month. Two starts back, Unrivaled Time closed into a fair pace to win the Cecil B. DeMille (G3) at Del Mar, so we know he’s talented enough to compete at this level. A better setup in the Pasadena might be all he needs to shine.
Santa Anita: Race 10: $16,855 Super High 5 carryover (8:07 p.m. ET)
To win a share of the $16,855 carryover in Santa Anita’s $1 Super High 5, you’ll have to solve Race 10, a maiden special weight for three-year-old fillies racing one mile on turf.
#8 Humidity (6-1) is a logical horse to build tickets around. She’s started three times over this class level and distance, finishing fifth, fifth, and third. Her third-place finish came on Jan. 19 at Santa Anita, and she was beaten only one length while earning a respectable 70 Brisnet Speed rating.
Humidity isn’t a lock to win Race 10, but she appears highly likely to crack the top five (and quite possibly the top three), so bettors should structure their tickets accordingly.
Good luck!
