Sunday carryover picks: $136,904 Pick 6 and more

Sunday’s racing action includes a trio of enticing carryovers at Colonial Downs and Kentucky Downs, including one prize pool with a six-figure value.

There are two carryovers up for grabs at Colonial Downs. The 50-cent Pick 6 has tossed up a $4,562 prize pool, while the 50-cent Late Pick 5 offers an $11,950 carryover.

The two wagers overlap, and both encompass Race 7, a maiden special weight for two-year-olds racing one mile on turf. It’s one of the trickiest legs of either sequence to handicap, because 12 horses have entered and there isn’t much form to analyze.

One longshot we recommend using on your Pick 5 and Pick 6 tickets is first-time starter #11 Stars On the Water (30-1). As a son of Mendelssohn out of a mare by Sea the Stars, he’s bred to excel racing one mile on turf.

Stars On the Water is trained by Archibald Kingsley Jr., a 27% winner with first-time starters and a 33% winner with horses debuting on turf. Apprentice jockey Taylor Kingsley (who rides with a seven-pound weight allowance) has the mount, so there’s a lot to like about Stars On the Water.

Kentucky Downs: Race 7: $136,904 Pick 6 carryover (4:56 p.m. ET)

If you can solve the highly competitive $1 Pick 6 at Kentucky Downs, you can win a share of a massive $136,904 carryover.

One of two stakes in the sequence is Race 10, the Kentucky Downs Ladies Marathon (G3) for fillies and mares racing 1 5/16 miles on turf. Defending winner #8 Stellify (1-1) is a heavy favorite and a logical candidate to single in the Pick 6.

Stellify won the 2025 Ladies Marathon by 2 3/4 lengths, capping off a four-race win streak that also included a decisive win in an $80,000 allowance optional claimer at Kentucky Downs.

Stellify has only run twice since last year’s Ladies Marathon. She finished seventh against a deep international field in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1), then ended a nine-month layoff when fourth (beaten only 2 1/2 lengths) in the Aug. 1 Beverly D. (G2).

If Stellify takes a step forward in her second start of the season, she can bring her Kentucky Downs record to 3-for-3 with another triumph in the Ladies Marathon.
