Best Bets and Quick Picks
Horseshoe Indianapolis: Race 1: $7,500 Maiden Claiming (one mile on dirt, 2:10 p.m. ET)
#1 Movin Out (3-2) has shown early speed in three of his first four starts sprinting in maiden special weights at Horseshoe Indianapolis. He has a good chance to secure an easy lead while stretching out over one mile, and dropping into a $7,500 maiden claimer should make him tough to catch.
Let’s key Movin Out on top of #6 Chabelo (9-2) and #2 Cool Hunting (5-2) in exacta and trifecta tickets.
Selections
- #1 Movin Out (3-2)
- #6 Chabelo (9-2)
- #2 Cool Hunting (5-2)
Wagers
- $10 Exacta: 1 with 2,6 ($20)
- $5 Trifecta: 1 with 2,6 with 2,6 ($10)
Total: $30
Horseshoe Indianapolis: Race 4: Maiden Special Weight (5 1/2 furlongs on dirt, 3:43 p.m. ET)
#1 Streak Sense (5-1) is an unraced two-year-old trained by Aaron West, who wins at a 20% rate with first-time starters.
A son of juvenile Grade 1 winner McKinzie, Streak Sense has the potential to excel from an early age. And take note, he’s put together a respectable work tab including a bullet half-mile from the Horseshoe Indianapolis starting gate in :47 2/5.
At 5-1, Streak Sense is worthy of a win bet.
Selections
- #1 Streak Sense (5-1)
- #3 Eclipse Cruising (12-1)
- #8 Quality Red (5-2)
Wagers
- $25 to win on #1 Streak Sense
Churchill Downs: Race 5: Maiden Special Weight (1 1/16 miles on turf, 6:59 p.m. ET)
#9 Time in Motion (7-2) put up a good fight when debuting in a 1 1/16-mile maiden special weight at Saratoga. He carved out the pace and led until the final furlong, when he tired slightly to finish fourth by 2 3/4 lengths.
The winner, Oscar, came back to finish second against an international field in the Summer (G1), so Time in Motion lost to a talented rival. Since trainer William Walden wins at a lofty 32% rate with second-time starters, we’re willing to bet Time in Motion can step forward and deliver a victory in Race 5.
#6 Roscoe Goose (5-2) can round out the exacta.
Selections
- #9 Time in Motion (7-2)
- #6 Roscoe Goose (5-2)
- #7 Travelin (8-1)
Wagers
- $20 to win on #9 Time in Motion
- $10 Exacta: 9 with 6
Total: $30
Good luck!
