Horseshoe Indianapolis: Race 2: $5,000 Maiden Claiming (six furlongs on dirt, 2:41 p.m. ET)

#5 Hotline Blink (3-1) might be a 0-for-10 maiden but he’s competed exclusively against tougher competition than he’ll face on Tuesday. He exits a sixth-place finish in a one-mile $12,500 maiden claimer at Churchill Downs, and two starts back he finished fifth in a six-furlong $20,000 maiden claimer at Keeneland.

Dropping down the class ladder can send Hotline Blink to the winner’s circle for the hot jockey/trainer duo of Carlos Barbosa and Manuel Chavez. #7 Decatur Street (9-5), runner-up over this track and class level last time out, can complete the exacta.

Will Rogers Downs: Race 3: Maiden Special Weight (one mile on dirt, 3:09 p.m. ET)

#7 Joyful Image (7-5) ran a big race over this track, distance, and class level on March 26. She finished second by 1 1/2 lengths while pulling 20 3/4 lengths clear of third.

That effort earned a 65 Brisnet Speed rating, Joyful Image’s fifth straight number in the 65-69 range. Considering none of her Tuesday rivals have ever posted a number higher than 67, Joyful Image is the fastest horse on paper and the filly to beat in her second Will Rogers Downs start.

#3 Gospel Treasure (3-1), the only obvious speed horse in this field, can round out the exacta.
