Best Bets and Quick Picks
Turf Paradise: Race 4: $10,000 Claiming (7 1/2 furlongs on turf, 5:40 p.m. ET)
#6 Guiltyofhavingfun (5-2) was tons the best in a recent $8,500 claimer racing about one mile over the Turf Paradise lawn. She led every step of the way to dominate by five lengths, earning a strong 86 Brisnet Speed rating.
Stepping up to the $10,000 level shouldn’t bother Guiltyofhavingfun. The par winning Brisnet Speed rating for Tuesday’s conditions is only 74, a number Guiltyofhavingfun has exceeded in each of her last four starts.
Let’s place a win bet on Guiltyofhavingfun, then single her to start a double wager.
Selections
- #6 Guiltyofhavingfun (5-2)
- #1 Church Pew (7-2)
- #4 Marinas Tina (4-1)
Wagers
- $15 to win on #6 Guiltyofhavingfun
- $15 Double: 6 with 6
Total: $30
Turf Paradise: Race 5: $12,500 Starter Optional Claiming (six furlongs on dirt, 6:09 p.m. ET)
#6 Chasing Rain (5-2) has won three of his four starts at Turf Paradise this year. Last time out, he led all the way through hot pace fractions of :21.75 and :43.95 to trounce a $25,000 allowance optional claimer by three lengths, earning a career-best 89 Brisnet Speed rating.
Chasing Rain appears well-spotted to snag another win while dropping in class for a $12,500 starter optional claimer, so we’ll single him to conclude our double wager, then key him over #3 Truth Seeker (5-1) and #8 Lansdowne (8-1) in an exacta.
Selections
- #6 Chasing Rain (5-2)
- #3 Truth Seeker (5-1)
- #8 Lansdowne (8-1)
Wagers
- $12 Exacta: 6 with 3,8 ($24)
Turf Paradise: Race 8: $4,500 Claiming (6 1/2 furlongs on dirt, 7:41 p.m. ET)
#3 Lucky Nea (3-1) is a relative newcomer to Turf Paradise. Formerly based in California, she’s made two recent starts at Turf Paradise, finishing second by a head in an $8,500 maiden claimer before wiring a $4,500 maiden claimer by 3 3/4 lengths.
Those efforts yielded Brisnet Speed ratings of 70 and 75, both higher than the par winning number (68) for Tuesday’s conditions. None of the other horses entered in Race 8 have earned a Brisnet Speed rating higher than 74, so let’s place a large win bet on Lucky Nea.
Selections
- #3 Lucky Nea (3-1)
- #7 Social Status (4-1)
- #9 More Trouble (10-1)
Wagers
- $35 to win on #3 Lucky Nea
Good luck!
