#4 Long Range Pursuit (9-5) should be capable of beating this field. In her lone dirt route race to date, she finished third in a $32,000 maiden claimer racing one mile at Santa Anita.

Coastal Kid has cracked the trifecta in five of his nine starts racing one mile, which may lend him an advantage over logical challenger #2 Moneyshot (3-1), who is 0-for-4 over this distance. We’ll single Coastal Kid in our double and Pick 3 wagers, then play him over Moneyshot in an exacta.

#4 Chasing Rain (2-1) looks formidable in this spot. Two starts back, he wired a $10,000-$8,500 claimer at Turf Paradise by six lengths over a next-out winner. Then he stepped up in class for a $20,000-$15,000 allowance optional claimer and finished third, beaten only two lengths.

Dropping back down in class can send Chasing Rain to the winner’s circle for the red-hot jockey/trainer duo of Orlando Mojica and Robertino Diodoro. We’ll single him to conclude our Pick 3, then bet an exacta using #3 Caution Cardinal (4-1) and #5 Honor the Cat (7-2) for second place.
