Weekend Feature Races
Another great weekend of racing is head of us here a bestbet Jacksonville. Loads of great racing is on tap over both 550 and 660 yards, and we even get a 770 race with a stick out player for you to watch, wager and win on. Let’s take a closer look at the feature races and see if we can get you cashing some tickets this weekend at bestbet.
Friday evening April 7th, 2017
Race #7 – The early speed that will kick off this race is Ww’s Flicka, but in the end, she will have a hard time holding on for the win. Real Good Feelin is one of the elite greyhounds at the racetrack, and from a favorable post position, she will be a tough out tonight. From the front, or from off the pace, she is a monster in the open. The 8 box gets her open here. Don’t forget about the rising young star Pat C Hash Tag, and the ideally posted stalking threat Atascocita Danty. (8-4-7-1)
Race #10 – Another grade A race and another DQ Williams greyhound to worry about. Touch To Much has been on a tear with 4 grade A wins in his last 6 races. He has great early speed and should see the lead from this post position. Once in front he is hard to run down. Gamely chasing and making the leader work should be the back to back runner up She’s A Mystery, the finally on the rail again runner, she is a whole different animal from here, Pat C Cozy, and the back to back moving from grade C back to grade A threat, Lee Utah. (6-7-2-3)
Race #11 – Hot hand time in this race and you can’t go wrong with the 1 box at bestbet. C Ville Kree has been on a reach as she has moved from grade D all the way up to and winning grade A in her last 5 races. Winning 4 of those effort, including her last 3 in a row, she has found her mojo and is dominating fields. Here another solid rail post should equal another strong victory. IE, Streak Continues! Posing a threat to the champ will be the cagey veteran in a wrong, wrong post, Ww’s Sammy, the 4 races in a row quiniela threat O Ya Casey Jones, and the all-out posted up late closing contender Pat C Gangsta. (1-6-3-8)
Race #15 – Another great match up between, not one, not two, but three greyhounds on win streaks. Cj’s Sadie is an early speed specialist that has been stealing the front end and big leads in her back to back winning trips, but this time out will be another story. Racetrack returner Bl Warlock has a win streak of his own going with three wins in grade A in a row, but they both pale in comparison to super-pup Dutch Double who has won 6 straight and 10 of his 15 starts. This guy is the real deal and can get it done on the lead or from just off the pace. The 5 box might be tough, but I think he gets it done once again. Underneath on your plays, the always closing threat that is Ww’s Marsala. (2-5-8-6)
Saturday matinee April 8th, 2017
Race #11 – Lots of upstarts in this race, but I like the one with the biggest upside. Bambi Brake might just be a pup but she is started to figure it all out at bestbet. Just like her dear old dad, we all remember Offthebrakedrake right, she loves the rail and gets a best rail post at the racetrack here in the 1 box. She is outclose early today and has enough late to run down the early leader to win. Setting the pace will be Back To Ohio. This speedster is finally up in grade A and gets a good post for himself as well. Short late will cost him, but not so much in the matinee. If he can steal enough and get some help, it could be upset time. Watch out for the always trying, four 2nd in a row, runner Ww’s Castle Rock, and the steady closer Pat C Seven. (1-5-2-4)
Saturday evening April 8th, 2017
Race #5 – Now for the lock of the weekend!! No matter the lines, when the track record holder at any distance is down in grade C against a field of first time runners over that distance, I think she might have a bit of an advantage. Did I mention that the track record holder also has the 1 box! Well, open the checkbooks! LOL! Herstal gets a chance in the TC event, with 5 grade D greyhounds in the race, she should have no issues in destroying this field. This is a gimmie in my opinion! Next best, the DQ Williams greyhound, Good Luckchigger. Fist time over this distance, but you know every DQ greyhound can run this far. Don’t overlook fellow grade C runner and 770 vet Tomco Digger, and the hot and cold running Kc’s Sandy. (1-3-8-5)
Race #7 – Stake winner match up here as Ln Houdini won the 2016 James J Patton Silver Cup and Hey Hey Daddy won the 2016 bestbet Sprint Classic. Both greyhounds are rounding back into form as of late, but Houdini looks to have a bit of a head start on the process. Both greyhounds are posted well, but with 3 wins in a row, I have to like Houdini’s chances better. Daddy just won his last effort from this same post and could pull off a repeat performance if it all goes well for him again here. Gs Carlton must not be overlooked either. This pup has won 3 of 4 and has bolted up to the grade A ranks over the last month. Early Ww’s Will Be should also challenge after finally making it to grade A. Short late, I like her under on the tickets as she has not missed the money in 6 straight. (1-6-4-2)
Race #11 – No matter the distance, you must like Boc’s Queen Lady in this race. The recent winner of the 2017 IronHound Stakes, Lady just keeps on coming no matter what you throw at her. HEART is the true color of a champion and she has that in abundance. Here posted well inside, expect her to take on all comers, and come out as a winner once again. Just missing last time was Mr Tony and that is about what you will get once again here. Coming into his own finally, he has been a threat in 3 straight in grade A and will stretch that streak again here. Both greyhounds must catch the early leader Ww’s Lost Girl if they want that big-time W, but don’t sleep on Blutoo Mmmskippy either. This closer could make it interesting at the finish line. (3-1-5-4)
Race #15 – Over to 660 for this one and let’s go with a pair from Pat Collins and a pair from Julia Ward. Puppy stakes winner Pat C Outbounds is thriving over 660 and is riding high off a win last time out. With 4 quinielas in her last 5 starts, including 3 in a row, she is firing on all cylinders and could be tough to beat. Ww Blair is just out of the Ironhound Finals where he finished a game 2nd. He is better over the distance routes and should flourish again from a near inside post here. Also, consider that all out early speeder over 660 Ww Next Bigthing along with the closing threat, who just won last time out, Pat C Funkie. (8-4-2-6)
Sunday matinee April 9th, 2017
Race #11 – An evenly matched up race here on this matinee, so let’s go with the solid grade A in the mix. Stocks Arerising. Rising can win with or without the early lead in any race. Oh, and he likes this post position too, look for a big effort here. Challenged him will be the always threatening runner Lorine Of Ruckus. Lorine might not win a ton of races, but Lorine is in the money a ton. Just look at her lines. In 6 of her last 7 starts, she has finished in the top 4 positions at the wire. More of the same here. Keep an eye out for back to back winner Jack’s War Hero, along with the posted up tough if close runner, who is coming off a big win, Flyin Ruth Riley. (5-4-7-1)
