What is Breeder's Cup?
Breeders' Cup is one of the richest two days of racing with a $34 million payout in purses and awards.
There are three main ways to gain entry into a Breeders' Cup race. An automatic "Win and You're In" is accomplished through a Breeders' Cup Challenge held at various tracks.
A point based system that ranks horses based on their performance throughout the year, is another way to squeeze into one of the Breeders' Cup races.
The last option is to be selected by a panel of experts. Through this, it is ensured that the best of the best will compete. The next Kentucky Derby winner could be among them.
