Tuesday Australia Preview for 1/14/2014
With the new year in full swing and many peoples resolutions probably gone by the way side, we’re sticking with ours and continuing to try and win some extra cash at the track! Last week’s Magic Millions haul was enough to keep me excited so I thought that we could have a quick look at this mid-week meet at Caulfield racecourse and just try and grab some extra weekend bankroll.
CAULFIELD RACECOURSE – AUS A
RACE 6 – TVN HANDICAP 1200M
PRINCE STRATUM looks clearly toughest to beat in this race. Mark Zahra was aboard when he won his 1st and 2nd starts this prep. He's had excuses since then that are acceptable. His run at this track last time was from a wide gate and it was very good. UNION GAP is probably the most lively danger in the field. He had no luck at Geelong. But his previous form gives him every chance here. MY SURVIVOR will appreciate the drop in class, although 1200m is still a query. GENERAL GROOVE has a good chance on his sound 1st up run. Have to give a small hope to OUR HAND OF FAITH especially out of respect to the stable.

RACE 7 – GUINOT INTERNATIONAL HANDICAP 1000M
The clash of 3yos LORD OF THE SKY and CRUDEN BAY make this a race worth paying attention to. SASSY TYCOON, STARALAN and LORD OF THE SKY look like the ones to provide a solid pace up front. The form around his 1st up win is strong. His overall time was only a fraction slower than open class Vatican. He looks value with his light weight. CRUDEN BAY returns with a tongue tie on. He had spring prep but he got sick and had to be put away. He looks very smart. SHE'S ELLIE and BLACKJACK BOY next best.

RACE 8 – BMW HANDICAP 1800M
Hard way to wind up the day this race. Down page, the better chances might be JELLY BABY, BALAYEUR (surely gets some luck now), STREET SAVVY (Hard to really say where it’s at, but is going through the grades), SUBIASO (forget his last run), SIGNOFF (looks promising, most importantly the stable is flying), DONARCHIE (also putting in good runs without any real luck), TRY PICKLE (great run last time), TRANSFER ALLOWANCE (drawn for a good run).
