BC Internationals: Turf contender Ordak Dan

Two years ago, Ordak Dan’s Breeders’ Cup dream was ended by injury. But after a lengthy convalescence, the classy Argentinean regained top form to earn another tilt at the Turf (G1), this time for the Breeders' Cup at Keeneland.

In early 2013, Ordak Dan was a progressive type who successfully handled the class hike to Group 1 company in the Gran Premio 25 de Mayo, a “Win and You’re In” for the Turf:

 

Unfortunately, an injury sustained after he shipped to the United States deprived him of a chance to compete at Santa Anita. Considering how well Ordak Dan copes with heavy going, however, the lightning-quick conditions in Southern California might not have played to his strengths. Keeneland’s course may be a bit kinder to him.

Ordak Dan needed time, first to convalesce and then to regain his old form. But he showed that he was back in business in the 2015 renewal of the Gran Premio 25 de Mayo, again displaying his typical determination:
