Dashin Brown Streak will run in Saturday's Refrigerator Handicap

A very competitive field of Quarter Horses is assembled for Saturday night's $75,000 Refrigerator Handicap (G1) at Lone Star Park.

The 440-yard stakes includes several nationally prominent runners, led by Dashin Brown Streak, who has won the Grade 1 Remington Park Championship and the Leo Stakes earlier this year at Remington Park. Trained by John Brasseaux, AQHA champion rider, G. R. Carter, Jr. will ride the 5-year-old, who has been listed as the 2-1 favorite.

Top contenders include Moonin The Eagle, who has competed at Sam Houston Race Park and Ruidoso Downs. Trained by Rolando Almanza, the speedy son of One Famous Eagle will break from the far outside post under Esgar Ramirez. Mr Jo Eagle, is another son of One Famous Eagle, and steps up in class after competing in restricted stakes at Retama Park near San Antonio. Rockin Disco had a great meet earlier this year at Remington Park and could fire nicely off the freshening under regular rider Ricardo Aguirre. Jessies First Down is another horse that cannot be overlooked; he is trained by Judd Kearl, who will give a leg up to Rodrigo Vallejo.

Past winners of the Refrigerator include AQHA world champions Tailor Fit and Jrc Callas First, Vals Fortune, Spit Curl Diva and Louisiana Senator.

The 2015 live Quarter Horse season at Lone Star Park continues through Saturday, November 14. Key stakes include the Dash for Cash Futurity on October 10 and the Grade 1, $1 million Texas Classic Futurity and $400,000 Texas Classic Derby on November 14.
