Greyhound Preview: Palm Beach For 8/18/2014

August 18th, 2014

By Palm Beach Jason

Great lineup to start off your week today at Palm Beach. One of the best super sprinters ever here Bae Sang goes in Race 4, along with one of the hottest greyhounds this season Stormy Brogan in Race 14. Both will be going for a piece of the season wins lead in their races.

Here are the top races I will be following for the Matinee at “The Beach.

Race 4 Grade TA 301 Yards

#7 Bae Sang from top Kennel Rader Racing will be the favorite in this one and he should be. He has posted five of the top ten races times at this distance on the young season, including a sensational 16.51 secs blazer. Has only missed the ticket once in the past two seasons, so leaving him off any Exotic plays is not an option.

Always a threat is #3 Liberty Trail from The Champions Racing Team. The veteran had 16 wins last season and has taken out Bae Sang on occasion. #2 Aye Doctor Ron has found a nice home on the super sprint course, posting back to back Place finishes.

Bae Sang is too dominant to walk away from here.

Picks 7-2-3-8

Race 10 Grade A 545 Yards

I wonder if the actress knows the greyhound named after her likes the 8 box here at Palm Beach. Maybe I will tell her on Twitter sometime.

#8 Sandra Bullock from Champions Racing Team has taken three straight out of her prime 8 box. To say she has success from the outside is an understatement.

Not a ton of class for Sandy B to contend with here. The veteran #1 Bills Bulbs has the best close of this field and is a 60% board hitter this season. #3 Cleopatra Jones is another actress who is coming off a win last time out and should be in the mix as well. Is also Sandy’s kennel mate. I think Champions Racing Team loves Hollywood!

Sandra Bullock is setup in a perfect spot to win here.

Picks 8-5-1-3

Race 14 Grade A 545 Yards

The race of the day without a doubt.

#4 Stormy Brogan from owner Sharon Williams has been very impressive so far this season. Four wins in his last five starts puts him right up at the top with the best 545 yards racers here. Going for his 6th win this year.

#6 Atascocita Padua from Suncoast Racing has the best shot to slow down the hot puppy Brogan. Does well out of the mid-track boxes and can steal a win if there is trouble at the turn. Occasional brilliance can come from #8 Olivia Wilde who won at 29-1 two starts back.

Stormy Brogan continues his dominant start to his season in this one.

Picks 4-8-6-3

Top Pick Race 4 - #7 Bae Sang
