Unlike many Pick 6 wagers, the Turf Paradise Pick 5 is a traditional bet that disperses its entire pool among winning bettors—no jackpot involved. Thus, constructing a unique winning ticket won’t be necessary to capitalize on the full extent of Monday’s carryover.

Race 8: $3,500 Claiming (4 1/2 furlongs)

The speedy #9 India Wilkes (7-2) has cracked the trifecta in every race he’s finished. He enters off three straight runner-up efforts against tougher company and should be tough to catch while dropping in class for trainer Martin Valdez-Cabral, who has compiled a solid 5-2-2-0 record this meet. All five of Valdez-Cabral’s starters were coming off races at Zia Park, just like India Wilkes.

Race 9: $6,250 Claiming (one mile)

You can make a case for almost anyone in this competitive two-turn mile, even the double-digit longshots. This is another race where we’ll hit the “ALL” button and cross our fingers for a surprise outcome.

Race 10: $3,500 Starter Allowance (one mile on turf)

Formerly based in Southern California, #2 Call You Tomorrow (3-1) was beaten a neck over this course and class level on Feb. 1, earning a sharp 81 Brisnet Speed rating. The son of Archarcharch brings tactical speed to the mix for ultra-hot jockey/trainer duo Scott Stevens and Don Schnell, stamping Call You Tomorrow as a logical single to end the sequence.
