How to bet the Oklahoma Classics Cup Handicap

October 16th, 2025

A total of nine horses bred in the Sooner State will vie in Friday’s $175,000 Oklahoma Classics Cup H. at Remington Park#2 Mister Omaha (9-5), who will tote a race-high 125 pounds, is the sure one to beat despite facing his elders for the initial time.

Classic Cup Wagers

$5 trifecta key 2 with 1,3,7 ($30)

$2 superfecta key 2 with 1,3,7 ($12)

Trained by Joe Offolter, the bay son of Omaha Beach is a two-time stakes hero on the local strip and comes in with fine form after a pair of big tries with open stakes foes as of late. The sophomore colt was a commendable fourth in the Super Derby at Louisiana Downs two back, which preceded a fine try in the Oklahoma Derby (G3) here when finishing more than four lengths clear of his nearest pursuer in third.

The homebred dons a lifetime line of 6-3-1-1 at Remington and has versatility in his running style, as well. In this particular contest, the bay could be sent to the front, and he will be tough to run down late if he is allowed to dictate things from the break. Regular pilot Luis Quinonez has the assignment.

#7 Flat Hanby (6-1) could add value to the vertical exotics for conditioner Boyd Caster. By Flat Out, the gray gelding is a stakes winner on the course and will make his 2025 debut on this occasion. The homebred four-year-old has worked steadily as of late with a trio of sharp morning moves in succession, and he owns a pair of wins and a second from his last trio of tries coming off the layoff. The late runner will have Floyd Wethey, Jr. in the stirrups.

#3 Number One Dude (10-1) is another price horse with appeal to me. A decent fourth in the heat last season, the American Lion gelding gets back on the dirt following a pair of grassy tries leading up to Friday, and his best performance will have him in the mix for a share inside the final furlong. The Alan Williams pupil has checked in first or second on 11 occasions on the surface and will have Luis Quinonez on board.

The Aaron Shorter-trained #1 Winters Lion (2-1) grabbed third in the contest in 2024 and is well perched on the rail. The gray son of Accelerate is just 2-for-28 in his career, but he has been facing open company all year and could surely make the frame on the move in with state-bred foes under the guidance of Ramon Vazquez.
