Parx: Horse racing pick of the day for Dec. 7

Picks and plays for Thoroughbred horse racing for Monday, Dec. 7.
Parx, Race 9: Pennsylvania Nursery S. (7 furlongs, 4:01 p.m. ET)
The stakes winners #7 Plane Drunk (2-1 on the morning line) and #10 Like a Saltshaker (3-1) are the morning line favorites, but neither appears unbeatable in Monday’s large field. The filly Plane Drunk is stretching out beyond six furlongs and facing male rivals for the first time, while Like a Saltshaker is transitioning to dirt after a series of encouraging efforts on Tapeta and turf.
#12 Kidnapped (4-1) is a logical alternative. The son of Violence ran well in his first two starts on dirt at Parx before switching to turf for the Laurel Futurity and Awad S., rallying to finish third by just 1 1/4 lengths in the former event.
Kidnapped brings competitive Brisnet Speed ratings to the equation for hot jockey/trainer duo Frankie Pennington and John Servis. Returning to dirt can produce a winning effort, especially considering Kidnapped blazed a bullet five furlongs from the Parx starting gate in :58 2/5 on Nov. 29. It seems evident Kidnapped has an affinity for the local main track.
Let’s bet Kidnapped to win and key him in the exacta with Plane Drunk and Like a Saltshaker.
$9 to win on #12 Kidnapped
$3 exacta: 7,10 with 12 ($6)
$5 exacta: 7,10 with 12 ($10)
Total: $25
Good luck!
