The rain at Oaklawn forces me back to the sunshine in southern Florida today. Let's see if we can't find some great betting opportunities!
Gulfstream Park 6 | 3:32 pm ET Optional Claiming (25) for 4&up going 1-1/16 mi. (T)
7 – One Golden Road – 4/1 – Horseplayers can go a lot of ways in this race. I finally settled on this 5 year old gelding trained by Mike Maker, who is winning with 31% of his horses, because jockey Javier Castellano takes the ride. The pair is hitting for a +$.64 ROI during this meet. Not only that, but One Golden Road figures to run into a much faster pace in this event that in his last.
10 - Hey Leroy – 6/1 – The case of seconditis continued for Hey Leroy on March 9 as the Any Given Saturday gelding recorded his 4th straight second place finish. Trainer Manuel Azpurua keeps the blinkers off again even though this guy sure looks like he might be a hanger. The post does this guy no favors but he’s a must use in the exotics because he does enjoy beating everybody except the winners in his races.
3 – Chairman Garey – 10/1- Graham Motion trains this two-time lifetime winner sired by Unbridled’s Song. The four-year old benefited greatly from a super quick pace in his last and could easily win this if the pace is hot up front. Both of those two victories came over Gulfstream’s turf.

8 - Kitten’s Point – 6/1 – The third place finisher in the Grade 1 Ashland last April, Kitten’s Point was fantastic when winning an OC $62,500 n2x mile race over Gulfstream’s turf in her last. That was a good prep for this. The post could hurt her depending on how jockey Edgar Prado decides to play it. Does he go for the front and run the risk of going wide around that first turn? Does he take back and hope that he doesn’t run into traffic. Prado’s as good as it gets. I’m keeping the faith!
2 – Triple Charm – 6/1– Pivotal is an excellent sire of grass runners and trainer Christophe Clement knows how to get them ready for the lawn. This will be this 6 year old mare’s import’s third race for Clement state side. Jockey Joe Bravo and Clement work well together, +$.59 ROI, and Bravo can do a lot of things with her because she breaks from a great post. The work on March 9 means that she should be on her toes for this.
3-Triple Arch – 12/1 – It’s back to the turf for this Marcus Vitali trainee that finished 3rd in the G2 Sabin in her last. She’s got a victory on turf. That race also happens to be the one where she scored her best lifetime speed fig. The ROI with Vitali and jockey Orlando Bocachica at this meet is +$2.61. She’s only a 4 year old filly meaning that she could improve with the surface switch and there might be some upside to be had.
