Quarter Horses Return to Hialeah Park on Saturday, December 26
Hialeah Park will kick off its seventh season of live Quarter Horse racing on Saturday, December 26. Their 2015-2016 meet runs through February 29, a total of 40 days.
Horsemen wintering in south Florida will not only enjoy the weather, but average purses of $140,000 per day and 24 stakes scheduled over the ten-week racing season.
Hialeah’s opening-day card begins with four trials for the Hialeah Maturity. The first stakes of the season is the $25,000 Bienvenido de Nuevo Stakes, with Grade 1 winner, Daytona B taking on Mo Zoomo, Mesa Marvel and Oldsmobile Hill in the 330-yard feature. Daytona B won the $350,000 Bank of America Challenge Championship on November 7 at Lone Star Park.

Horsemen to watch include 2015 leading trainer Judd Kearl, Donnie Strickland, Rolando Almanza, Matt Frazier and Kenny Laymon. The very competitive jockey colony will include Omar Reyes, Rodrigo Vallejo, Ricky Ramirez, Joe Badilla, Jr. and Yordanis Amaro.
Hialeah has announced two rewarding promotions for the 2015-2016 live racing season. Patrons who purchase a program on "Free Money Fridays" might be the lucky recipient of a $100 mystery betting voucher. Racetrack officials are also gearing up with "Monday Pick 4 Madness" in which the Pick 4 wagers on the card will be guaranteed for $5,000.
