SOUTHLAND preview - Saturday afternoon, July 16
Saturday afternoon's racing action at Southland looks to be full of exciting & entertaining paw to paw action and with that in mind, I've selected 3 greyhounds that I think have the good possibility of getting a win. So far, with the 6 picks I've given, 4 of them have won with Sovereign Island and Chasmo's Dutch taking care of business on Wednesday. That's a good solid percentage that we have going and I hope to keep that hot streak going with these selections below. There will be 18 races on the card for Saturday afternoon so make a day of it and let's see if we can't put some cash in your pockets with a couple of winning greyhounds. Remember that BetAmerica is your one stop wagering and racing information site that will gladly assist you in any way should you have any questions so please feel free to contact them. Best of luck to each of you in your wagering opportunities and thanks for reading.
Race 6 - I am coming right back with FENYA (8 box) who was one of my picks from this past Wednesday and who despite some late trouble was still able to come away with the win. She's got a strong rush to the turn and a late closing run that should put this young greyhound in contention in quite a few of her races. I won't be surprised to see her make it two wins in a row here. As many of you may know, she was also one of my 5 up & coming young greyhound picks for July.
Race13 - Also on my 5 up & coming picks for July was FLY M WEST (box 4) and this mostly inside running youngster has really shown some remarkable talent and ability as he now finds himself not only in Grade A and going against the big guns but also holding his own very well. He's had 8 top four finishes in his short career of 9 races and this includes 4 wins. This will be his 4th start in this grade and he's ran extremely well with a third and 2 fourth place finishes in his previous 3 A grade starts. Even more impressive is that he's been close in all of them, beaten by only by a length in one contest, one and 1/2 lengths in another and just two and 1/2 lengths in another. Tons of early speed and while he's been caught a few times down the stretch, as he gains more experience and his stamina increases, the future is very bright for this young greyhound.
Race18 - It may be a month since THEEREE (5 box) has gotten a win but don't let that sway you, she can run good from any post position, any place on the track and over both the 583 yard and 660 yard courses. She's won from every box except the 6 and since the majority of her races over the last few months have been in stakes contests, I certainly give this extremely talented and competitive greyhound a chance each time out, especially in Grade A where she runs here.
