The TwinSpires Jury of Ashley Anderson, Darin Zoccali, and guest David Levitch share their best bets for the Bryan Station (G3) and Fayette (G3) at Keeneland on closing day and the Street Sense (G3) on opening day of Churchill Downs' fall meet.
The eighth race on Keeneland's 10-race Saturday card, the Bryan Station drew a field of 12 three-year-olds, plus three also-eligibles, for the one-mile turf test. Recent Secretariat (G2) winner Giocoso is a lukewarm 9-2 morning-line favorite and will re-oppose Caravaggio colt Plensa, who surged late to beat the Keith Desormeaux pupil by a length in last month's Gun Runner S. at Kentucky Downs.
In the penultimate race of Keeneland's fall meet, the 1 1/8-mile Fayette will present a clash of 11 males, all of them four and older aside from 3-1 morning-line favorite Bracket Buster and Lexington S. (G3) victor Gosger. Other notables among the field include multiple graded stakes hero Dragoon Guard, Dubai World Cup (G1) upsetter Hit Show, last year's Clark (G2) winner Rattle N Roll, and Kentucky Derby (G1) alum Honor Marie.
A day after Keeneland closes its fall meet, Churchill Downs will kick off its own 26-day meeting with a Road to the Kentucky Derby prep, the 1 1/16-mile Street Sense (G3) for juveniles. The 10th of 11 races on Sunday's card, the Derby prep will award points on a 10-5-3-2-1 sliding scale to the top five finishers. The Rags to Riches S., a Kentucky Oaks (G1) prep race, will dole out similar points to the top five in the 1 1/16-mile contest for two-year-old fillies.
