Horseshoe Indianapolis: Race 4: $41,768 Pick 5 carryover (6:44 p.m. ET)
An evening card at Horseshoe Indianapolis is highlighted by a $41,768 carryover in the 50-cent Late Pick 5.
If you’re planning to pursue the carryover, we suggest building tickets around #5 Appeazing (3-5) as a short-priced single in Race 8.

Race 8 is a $15,000 maiden claimer for Indiana-bred fillies and mares dashing six furlongs on dirt. Many of the entrants have already lost against claiming competition, but Appeazing is a notable exception. She’s competed three times in maiden special weights for Indiana-breds at Horseshoe Indianapolis, finishing fifth, third, and fourth.
Appeazing has set the pace in all three of her starts and should be tough to catch while dropping in class for a $15,000 maiden claimer. Take note, trainer Aaron West wins at a strong 28% rate with horses tackling the maiden claiming ranks for the first time.
Santa Anita: Race 7: $53,570 Pick 6 carryover (7:05 p.m. ET)
After going unsolved on Friday, the $2 Pick 6 at Santa Anita features a $53,570 carryover for Saturday’s card.
The feature event in the six-race sequence is Race 11, the Summertime Oaks (G3) for three-year-old fillies racing 1 1/16 miles over the main track. #1 Mizumi (4-5) is a heavy favorite on the morning line, and we recommend singling the Bob Baffert-trained filly.
A well-bred daughter of Justify, Mizumi debuted on May 2 in a 6 1/2-furlong maiden special weight at Santa Anita. She was never more than one length off the lead and took over down the lane to triumph by 1 1/2 lengths over a runner-up who pulled eight lengths clear of the rest.
Mizumi received a 90 Brisnet Speed rating, which is the highest number earned on dirt by any filly in the Summertime Oaks field. Baffert wins at a 29% rate with horses running long for the first time, and at a powerful 36% rate with last-out maiden winners, so we’ll count on Mizumi to deliver victory in her stakes and route debut.
Good luck!
