Saturday carryovers: $38,260 Pick 6, $7,729 Super High 5

While playing the Belmont Stakes (G1) card at Saratoga, don’t forget to check out a pair of Saturday carryovers up for grabs at Churchill Downs and Santa Anita.

Churchill Downs: Race 2: $7,729 Super High 5 carryover (1:15 p.m. ET)

If you want to win a share of Saturday’s $7,729 Super High 5 carryover at Churchill Downs, you’ll have to solve Race 2, a $40,000 claimer for fillies and mares racing one mile on turf.

#7 Yellow Sun Dress (8-5) is the clear morning-line favorite after rallying strongly to win a one-mile grass allowance at Horseshoe Indianapolis last month. But the 80 Brisnet Speed rating she earned doesn’t give her an edge against Saturday’s field.

In fact, #2 Sanctify (9-2) recently earned an 82 Brisnet Speed rating when finishing sixth in a one-mile $80,000 allowance optional claimer at Churchill Downs. She was beaten only 6 1/4 lengths and looms as a formidable contender while dropping in class. Keep in mind, two starts back, Sanctify finished ninth in a Keeneland allowance behind next-out Mint Julep (G3) winner Sweet Treasure, so it’s safe to say she’s been facing tough competition.

We recommend taking a stand and keying Sanctify on top in the Super High 5. If she wins at 9-2, you’ll be well on your way to cashing a nice payoff.

Santa Anita: Race 5: $38,260 Pick 6 carryover (6:04 p.m. ET)

The Saturday card at Santa Anita is highlighted by a $38,260 Pick 6 carryover. The final pool is estimated to reach $300,000.

Since Santa Anita’s Pick 6 features a $2 minimum bet amount, it’s an expensive wager to play. Bettors can reduce costs by singling #3 Confidence Man (8-5) in Race 5, a maiden special weight for California-bred three-year-olds sprinting 5 1/2 furlongs over the main track.

Confidence Man debuted at this class level on May 10. Sprinting six furlongs over the Santa Anita turf, he finished third behind next-out $50,000 allowance optional claiming winner Matt At Five.

Confidence Man recently breezed a bullet half-mile in :46 1/5 at Santa Anita, so switching to dirt shouldn’t be an issue. Since trainer Brian Koriner wins at a lofty 26% rate with second-time starters, we expect Confidence Man to move forward on Saturday and deliver victory at short odds.

Good luck!
