Best Bets and Quick Picks

Zia Park: Race 4: Zia Park Sprint S. (six furlongs on dirt, 3:26 p.m. ET)

#3 Neiman (8-5) is 3-for-3 at Zia Park. He exits back-to-back allowance wins sprinting six furlongs over this track, which yielded sharp Brisnet Speed ratings of 90 and 91.

Neiman appears well-spotted to snatch a third straight win, even while stepping up in class. We’ll bet him on top of exacta and trifecta tickets using #1 Ryvit (7-2) and #5 Usually Wrong (5-2) underneath.

Selections

  • #3 Neiman (8-5)
  • #1 Ryvit (7-2)
  • #5 Usually Wrong (5-2)

Wagers

Zia Park: Race 7: Zia Park Distaff S. (six furlongs on dirt, 4:47 p.m. ET)

#5 Thermal (2-1) has spent most of her career competing on turf. But when she switched to dirt for a six-furlong $50,000 allowance optional claimer at Santa Anita last month, she led all the way to dominate by 3 3/4 lengths with a career-best 98 Brisnet Speed rating.

None of the other Zia Park Distaff entrants have run faster than Thermal on the Brisnet Speed rating scale, so she appears well-spotted to secure her first stakes win. Fellow California shippers #8 Practical Dream (6-1) and #7 No Bad Beats (5-1) can battle to complete the exacta and trifecta.

Selections

  • #5 Thermal (2-1)
  • #8 Practical Dream (6-1)
  • #7 No Bad Beats (5-1)

Wagers

  • $10 Exacta: 5 with 7,8 ($20)
  • $5 Trifecta: 5 with 7,8 with 7,8 ($10)
    Total: $30

Zia Park: Race 9: Zia Park Oaks (1 1/16 miles on dirt, 5:41 p.m. ET)

Only one filly entered in the Zia Park Oaks has posted a Brisnet Speed rating higher than 90: #1 Rosato (5-1). The Kentucky shipper has put up numbers of 91 and 92 in her two dirt starts this year, both of which yielded third-place finishes in $125,000 allowance optional claiming sprints.

Rosato’s pedigree suggests stretching out over 1 1/16 miles won’t be an issue, so let’s try a win bet on the gray filly.

Selections

  • #1 Rosato (5-1)
  • #5 Kanojo (5-2)
  • #4 Going Deep (4-1)

Wagers

  • $30 to win on #1 Rosato

Good luck!
