Horseshoe Indianapolis: Race 1: Maiden Special Weight (five furlongs on dirt, 2:10 p.m. ET)

#2 Summer Dream (7-5) showed talent in a 5 1/2-furlong maiden special weight at Ellis Park earlier this month. She opened up a daylight lead before tiring in the homestretch to finish third, beaten 3 3/4 lengths.

The 71 Brisnet Speed rating Summer Dream earned is higher than the par winning number (68) for Wednesday’s conditions at Horseshoe Indianapolis. The daughter of Into Mischief appears well-spotted to break her maiden for hot trainer John Ennis, who has gone 5-for-13 (38%) at Horseshoe Indianapolis this meet.

#7 Speech and Drama (3-1), runner-up in a $50,000 maiden claimer at Churchill Downs, can complete the exacta.

There isn’t much pace in this field, which should suit #6 Prototype (2-1) just fine. Last time out, he set the pace in a $12,500 claimer racing one mile at Presque Isle before staying on to finish second.

Prototype brings sharp Brisnet Speed ratings to the table and is a logical choice to secure victory for the hot jockey/trainer duo of Israel Rodriguez and Juan Arriagada, who have won at a 32% rate teaming up together over the last two months.

#2 D’oro Lemon (3-1) can round out the exacta.

Assiniboia Downs: Race 3: Debutante S. (five furlongs on dirt, 9:25 p.m. ET)

#5 My Kid’s Said No (2-5) opened her career with a 10 3/4-length demolition of a Gulfstream Park maiden special weight, after which she finished a pacesetting third (beaten only 1 3/4 lengths) in the Prairie Gold Lassie S. at Prairie Meadows.

My Kid’s Said No should be tough to beat at Assiniboia Downs. Trainer Tena Birdwell has already scored one stakes win at Assiniboia this meet, sending Elston Gunnn to take the Golden Boy S., and My Kid’s Said No can follow suit.

#1 Thick (8-1), an unraced filly trained by Michael Nault, can round out the exacta. Nault wins at a 42% rate with first-time starters.
