Harness racing: Value wagering on Hoosier Park's Friday stakes
On Friday, Nov. 6, Hoosier Park will bring back some Breeders Crown performers for some of its signature stakes.
Here is a list of outside contenders for those races.
Race 4
Last week, we just missed a double-digit win, but got a big place price, with #6 Play Trix On Me. He is definitely in a bet-back situation.
Race 6
The true outsider with a good shot in this herd of pacers is #9 Marloe Hanover. A top trainer of fillies, a local driver, and an outside post may mean nothing in the stretch.
Race 8
A big move last week may have been a flare to pay attention to #2 Sweet Shirley Mae. She has odds way too high for a Nancy Takter-trained trotter.
Race 10
This is the program’s stakes finale, which features sophomore, pacing colts. None of the stars of the division have returned, which makes this a fine betting opportunity for a moderate outsider.
Neither of the probable favorites shines among the field, yet they will control the win pools, which could leave a strong contender a generous offering to bettors looking for a bargain.
That colt is #3 Tattoo Artist. Last week, he was a favorite in a local stakes and finished second to a 3-1 shot. However, that winner won’t be the public choice here. That status should go to #5 Cattlewash. His presence will add promise to Tattoo Artist’s price and solidify him as an overlay.
