Ted Noffey among notables in KY Derby Future Wager Pool 1

The first of six Kentucky Derby Future Wagers (KDFW) pools for the 152nd edition of the "Run for the Roses" on May 2, 2026, will be held this week, beginning at noon ET on Wednesday. Betting on Pool 1 will close at approximately 6 p.m. on Friday in advance of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) at Del Mar.

The early Juvenile favorite, #36 Ted Noffey, has been pegged as the 10-1 favorite among the 38 individual entries in Pool 1. There is a separate wagering interest for all filly foals of 2023 (#39) and for all other colts and geldings foaled in 2023 (#40), which is the overall 4-5 favorite.
Pool 1 offers $2 win and exacta wagering. Fans can place wagers at TwinSpires.com, the official wagering platform of Churchill Downs Inc. and the Kentucky Derby (G1).
KDFW Pool 2 and the Sire Future Wager will run Nov. 27-30, Pool 3 on Jan. 16-18, Pool 4 on Feb. 13-15, Pool 5 on March 13-15, and Pool 6 (April 2-4). The lone Kentucky Oaks Future Wager (KOFW) will run concurrently with Pool 5.
There are no refunds in the Kentucky Derby Future Wager. If Churchill Downs officials determine during the duration of this week's pool that one of the wagering interests experiences an injury, illness, or other circumstance that would prevent the horse from participating in the Kentucky Derby, betting on the individual horse will be suspended immediately.
