SOUTHLAND Preview - Thursday, October 15
Welcome to another Thursday twilight card of exciting greyhound racing at Southland as there are 18 entertaining races on tap for our viewing and wagering pleasure. Triple upset Thursday is what we will call this program's MoneyMaker Mike's picks. These three picks will be greyhounds that aren't on the program's morning line and who could bring home some very nice prices. Always remember to check back during the coming weeks for different picks and selections and remember that BETAMERICA is always available for those of you looking for wagering opportunities online. Good luck to everyone and thanks for reading.
Race 4 - 583 yards - Grade D - TEBUCKY JONES - 5 box - At 13-1 I've got to take a shot on him, this greyhound has 21 top four finishes in 36 races but somehow has found his way down to Grade D. Early speed out of the box and a nice effort last time out (3rd, beaten by a length) is enough for me to risk a play on, especially in this grade.
Race16 - 660 yards - Grade B - PESCADOJOURNEY - 1 box - This rail runner is positioned well for a good run here, loves the inside and in her last two starts from the one box, has a win and a second place finish over this same distance. Since she's not on the morning line I'm hoping she slips under the radar just enough to bring back a good return on our investment. Tons of early speed, hopefully she hits the lid and holds the lead all the way.
Race18 - 703 yards - Grade TA - RCK GO FOR JEN - 7 box - She's encountered trouble of late, as she's been bumped, blocked and collided with in 4 of her last 6 races and most of those were in higher grades. Now having dropped in class, I will give her the benefit of the doubt and hope she's ready to run here. There is early speed on both sides of her but if she follows either or both quickly out of the box, she may be able to find some running room and get position to challenge for the win.
