Aqueduct: Analyzing Sunday’s $33,406 Pick 6 carryover

May 24th, 2026

A three-day weekend of racing at Aqueduct continues on Sunday with a $33,406 carryover up for grabs in the $1 Pick 6.

Aqueduct: Race 4: $33,406 Pick 6 carryover (2:36 p.m. ET)

Handicapping the Pick 6 has been complicated by rain in the forecast for Aqueduct. On Sunday morning, NYRA posted on social media that the races originally scheduled for turf would be switched to the main track.

Three of those off-the-turf races are in the Pick 6 sequence, allowing a bevy of horses entered for the main track only to draw in and compete.

That’s good news for #9 Vibrant Express (8-5) in Race 8, an $80,000 allowance optional claimer slated to take place over six furlongs on turf. Vibrant Express is entered for the main track only, and we recommend singling him.

Vibrant Express has competed exclusively on dirt. Between November 2025 and March 2026, he won five starts in a row at Aqueduct, including a six-furlong allowance.

Last time out, Vibrant Express rallied to finish second by one length in a six-furlong $80,000 allowance optional claimer over the Aqueduct dirt, earning a sharp 96 Brisnet Speed rating. A similar performance on Sunday would make him tough to defeat under two-time Eclipse Award-winning jockey Flavien Prat.

Another viable single can be found in Race 5, a $20,000 maiden claimer for fillies and mares sprinting seven furlongs on dirt. #7 Kay Road (6-5) has recorded top-four finishes in four of her five starts against tougher competition. Last time out, she finished fourth in a $55,000 maiden claimer at Aqueduct.

Dropping down in class stamps Kay Road as a compelling favorite. She owns the two highest Brisnet Speed ratings in Sunday’s field and will be formidable if she brings her A game.

If the turf races had stayed on grass, #3 Highway Harmony (1-1) would have been yet another logical single in Race 4, a $45,000 allowance optional claimer for New York-bred fillies and mares dashing six furlongs. Highway Harmony has won her last four turf starts by daylight margins, most recently taking a six-furlong allowance for New York-breds at Aqueduct by four lengths.

But now that Race 4 is rained off the turf, five horses entered for the main track only can draw in, and Highway Harmony could wind up scratching. On dirt, #8 Majestic Return (7-2) would be a must-use contender after running second at this distance and class level over the Aqueduct main track two starts back.

Good luck!
