Analysis

Race 7: Mint Julep (G3, 1 1/16 miles on turf)

#4 Medoro (5-2) is a logical favorite after finishing a close third against tougher competition in the Jenny Wiley (G1). But Modesty (G3) third-place finisher #5 Proctor Street (3-1), defending Mint Julep winner #3 Pin Up Betty (7-2), and Keeneland allowance winners #7 In the Stars (10-1) and #8 Sweet Treasure (6-1) all have the potential to shine on their best day.

Race 8: Aristides (G3, six furlongs on dirt)

Count Fleet Sprint H. (G3) winner #1 Mad House (7-2) and San Carlos (G3) conqueror #2 Cornucopian (5-2) are the two we’ll use in this dirt dash. Mad House has won six of his last seven starts, while Cornucopian is dropping in class out of the Churchill Downs (G1).

Race 9: Regret (G3, 1 1/8 miles on turf)

#9 Tam Tam (5-2) ran strongly after setting the pace in the 1 1/16-mile Edgewood (G2) at Churchill Downs earlier this month, finishing second by a head. But stretch-running Appalachian (G2) winner #8 Storm’s Wake (3-1) was only 1 1/2 lengths back in fifth place and may appreciate stretching out over 1 1/8 miles.

Race 10: Blame (G3, 1 1/8 miles on dirt)

Last year’s Dubai World Cup (G1) winner #3 Hit Show (5-2) is one of the most accomplished horses entered in the Blame, but he’s running for the first time since finishing fifth in the 2026 Dubai World Cup and might need a race off the layoff. If that’s the case, 2025 Mineshaft (G3) winner #2 Hall of Fame (6-1) has the tactical speed to work out a winning trip in this largely paceless field.

Race 11: Arlington (G3, 1 1/16 miles on turf)

#3 Lagynos (5-2) has won the Fair Grounds (G3), Muniz Memorial Classic (G2), and Opening Verse S. in succession. But in the latter race, he finished only a head clear of Tampa Bay (G3) winner #9 Quatrocento (7-2), who is back for a rematch. And they’ll both have to reckon with 2025 Wise Dan (G2) winner #10 Brilliant Berti (9-2), who is a neck away from being unbeaten in six starts over the Churchill Downs turf.

Good luck!
