Handicapper J. Keeler Johnson shares horse to single in a trio of Sunday Pick 6 carryovers at Colonial Downs, Saratoga, and Los Alamitos.

Colonial Downs: Race 3: $1,987 Pick 6 carryover (11:41 a.m. ET)

Early birds have a shot to win a share of Sunday’s $1,987 carryover in the 50-cent “Old Dominion 6” Pick 6 at Colonial Downs, which gets underway before noon ET.

The opening leg of the sequence is Race 3, a $12,500 claimer taking place over 1 1/16 miles. Tried-and-true $12,500 claimer #6 Edelweiss (4-5) is the heavy favorite after cracking the exacta in each of her last five starts at Laurel Park. She was beaten only a head in her latest race and romped by 3 1/4 lengths two starts back.

Edelweiss brings sharp Brisnet Speed ratings to the table and looms as the horse to beat under hot jockey Paco Lopez, a 30% winner at Colonial this meet. We recommend singling Edelweiss to start the Pick 6.

Saratoga: Race 4: $185,091 Pick 6 carryover (2:56 p.m. ET)

The Sunday card at Saratoga is highlighted by a massive $185,091 carryover in the $1 Pick 6.

The best chance for a trustworthy single can arguably by found in Race 5, a $55,000 maiden claimer taking place over 1 1/16 miles on grass. #8 Capricious Outcome (8-5), a Chad Brown trainee, is dropping in class after finishing fourth in his last two starts against maiden special weight competition on turf.

Capricious Outcome brings sharp Brisnet Speed ratings to the table and is picking up two-time Eclipse Award-winning jockey Flavien Prat. Throw in the fact Brown wins at a 25% rate with horses tackling the maiden claiming ranks for the first time, and Capricious Outcome is a formidable favorite.

Los Alamitos Thoroughbred: Race 6: $58,051 Pick 6 mandatory payout (6:19 p.m. ET)

Sunday is closing day of the Los Alamitos Thoroughbred meet, which means the mandatory payout of a $58,051 carryover in the $2 Pick 6.

Looking for a single to build tickets around? We recommend #4 Jacklyn Lucas (2-1) in Race 9, a maiden special weight for California-bred three-year-old fillies dashing 6 1/2 furlongs on dirt.

Many of the entrants bring uninspiring form to the table. Jacklyn Lucas is an exception. She hasn’t missed the superfecta in six starts over this class level at Santa Anita and Del Mar, including four on dirt. Last time out, she ran second sprinting six furlongs and earned a career-best 80 Brisnet Speed rating.

Jacklyn Lucas should find the competition a bit easier at Los Alamitos. None of her rivals have earned a Brisnet Speed rating higher than 72, so Jacklyn Lucas will be tough to beat if she brings her A game.

Good luck!
